The neurostimulation technology used in PlatoWork is called transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). This technique involves sending a low-intensity current between two electrodes. Where the current enters the brain, activity increases, and where it exits, activity decreases. This increase in activity means tDCS enhances the brain's natural processes. While the PlatoWork headset cannot create new activity, it can enhance the brain's natural plasticity, improving its ability to form new neural connections.

tDCS should not be used during pregnancy, by people under the age of 18, by individuals with epilepsy, and by people with metallic implants in their skull.

No. tDCS, within the physical boundaries set by the PlatoWork tDCS headset, cannot in any way pose a risk to your client. Excessive use can lead to skin lesions, and there are certain possible mild side effects, but no serious adverse events have ever been reported.

Numerous studies have confirmed that tDCS is highly safe. Most people only experience minor side effects, such as a tingling sensation under the electrodes and temporary skin reddening after the electrodes are removed. This redness, caused by increased blood flow, usually disappears within 15 to 30 minutes post-stimulation.

Importantly, all reported side effects have been temporary, with no permanent effects ever documented. This makes tDCS an excellent technology for home use, effectively altering brain activity with fewer side effects compared to other similarly powerful techniques.
