PRESENT YOUR WORK AT THE 3RD SOZO CONFERENCE

General Information

We welcome submissions covering a broad range of topics, including innovative treatment approaches and case studies, AI applications in neuromodulation, biomarkers and outcomes, neurorehabilitation, and neuroengineering. Contributions related to non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) are also encouraged, particularly in areas such as treatment protocols, psychiatric and cognitive disorders, movement disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, neuroinflammation, neurodevelopmental disorders and more. All submissions will undergo a peer-review process to ensure quality and relevance. Authors of accepted abstracts will have the opportunity to present their work at the conference and engage with a diverse, international audience.

General Information

SOZO Conference 2027 will feature poster presentations, displayed in the Poster Gallery throughout the venue.

The Scientific Committee has also allocated space within the programme for a limited number of oral presentations.

  • Each oral presentation will include 10 minutes of presentation time, with no dedicated Q&A session.
  • Abstracts that have been previously presented or published may only be submitted if they have been substantially revised or expanded, resulting in a clearly updated and original submission.

Selection Criteria

  • Submissions will be evaluated by members of the SOZO Scientific and Research Committee with relevant expertise in the subject area. Each abstract will be assessed based on its scientific and clinical relevance, methodological quality and ethical standards.
  • Notification regarding the acceptance or rejection of abstracts will be sent by email to the presenting author listed in the submission in September 2026.
  • Participation of industry-employed presenters in the scientific programme is permitted only under strict conditions of non-commercial content. Presentations must not relate to any specific company product and may include topics such as:
  • Basic scientific research (e.g., pre-clinical studies or therapy discovery)
  • Research processes or methodologies not linked to a specific disease or device
  • Mechanisms of action that are not associated with a particular product
  • All presentations must remain fully independent and free from commercial influence.

  • Abstracts accepted for oral presentation will be presented at the podium during dedicated Oral Presentation.
  • Posters Presentations
  • Paper posters will be displayed on numbered poster boards in the Exhibition area to be viewed during the Congress.
  • Before submitting an abstract, please review the following guidelines carefully.
  • Eligibility
  • SOZO Conference welcomes submissions from medical professionals, researchers, and biomedical scientists with a professional interest in neuromodulation.
  • Industry Participation
  • Employees of industry may only present if their submission is entirely non-commercial and unrelated to any company product. Suitable topics include:
  • Basic scientific research (e.g., pre-clinical studies or therapy discovery)
  • Research processes or methodologies not linked to a specific disease or device
  • Mechanisms of action not associated with a particular product
  • Submission Process
  • Abstracts must be submitted online via the official conference website; submissions by email will not be accepted.
  • All abstracts must be submitted by the announced deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.
  • Each individual may submit up to 3 abstracts, regardless of whether they are the presenting author.
  • Each individual may serve as presenting author on up to 3 abstracts.
  • Presenting authors must be registered participants. Only abstracts from authors who have completed registration and paid the fee will be included in the Conference programme.
  • By submitting an abstract, all authors consent to its publication in conference materials, on the SOZO website and social media, promotional materials, and relevant journals.
  • The presenting author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors are aware of and approve the abstract content before submission.
  • A presenting author may only be replaced by one of the co-authors listed on the abstract.
  • Oral presentations and Posters are limited to one primary presenter.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in clear and correct English. Submissions with poor grammar, syntax, or typographical errors may be rejected or returned for immediate revision.
  • Publication embargo: Abstract contents will be publicly available two weeks prior to the conference.
  • Detailed instructions for preparing presentation will be available on the conference website and will also be sent via email to the presenting author.

Commercial Independence Guidelines

At SOZO Conference 2027, we are committed to ensuring that all scientific content remains independent, balanced, and free from commercial influence. Authors are kindly asked to review the following guidelines before submitting their abstracts.

Content Free from Commercial Bias

All abstracts, posters, and oral presentations must:

  • Focus on advancing healthcare quality and knowledge, rather than promoting specific commercial products or services
  • Be free from commercial messaging, including logos, branding, or promotional content
  • Present a balanced and objective view of therapeutic options

 

If trade names are used:

  • They should be limited to the Materials and Methods section only
  • Generic names are strongly encouraged and should be used in the title and main body of the abstract to maintain neutrality

In line with international accreditation standards:

  • All educational content must be independent of commercial interests
  • Advertising of any kind is strictly prohibited within scientific materials
  • Sponsorship, where applicable, must be provided as an unrestricted educational grant

Submissions will be reviewed for compliance with these principles. The following will result in automatic rejection:

  • Inclusion of a company or sponsor name in:
    • Scientific programme titles
    • Session titles
    • Presentations or abstracts

  • Display of:
    • Brand names used prominently or excessively
    • Company logos in abstracts, posters, presentations, or programme materials

Guidelines

Prepare your Abstract for Submission

  • Before you begin, please prepare the following information:
  • 1. Presenting Author’s Contact Details
  • Full first and family name(s)
  • Email address
  • Affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), Country
  • Phone number
  • 2. Author and Co-author Details
  • Authors should be entered in the order in which they should appear in print.

  • The title should be brief and reflect the content of the abstract (maximum 25 words)
  • Commercial names may not be used in the abstract’s title (generic names only)
  • Do not put a full stop (.) at the end of the title

  • The abstract should be no longer than 300 words. Provide a clear, concise, and accurate summary that effectively represents the content of the presentation, if it is accepted. Submissions may not contain patient names, hospital ID numbers, or other identifying information.

  • The submission system allows you to save your abstract as a draft until the submission deadline. Drafts not submitted by the deadline will be automatically deleted.
  • To finalize your submission, click the “SUBMIT” button at the end of the process. You may log back into the system to edit your abstract at any time before the deadline. After the deadline, no changes or corrections can be made.
  • Once submitted, you will receive an abstract ID number via email. Please use this number in all correspondence regarding your abstract.
  • If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact the conference team [email protected]
  • Do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract.
  • By submitting your abstract(s), you confirm and agree to the following:
  • 1. I have reviewed this abstract and verified that all information is accurate. I understand that once the abstract is finally submitted, it cannot be modified or corrected, and it will be published exactly as submitted.
  • 2. Submission of this abstract constitutes the consent of all authors for its publication in conference materials, including the conference website, SOZO website, programmes, promotional materials, SOZO social media, and relevant journals.
  • 3. I warrant that all content provided in this abstract (hereafter, the “Content”) does not infringe upon any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.
  • 4. I grant the conference organizers a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the Content in any format or media at their discretion.
  • 5. I confirm that I have read and complied with the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence and the EACCME general principles for live educational events, ensuring that all content is free from commercial bias.
  • 6. I understand that industry employees may participate as presenters only if their content is completely non-commercial and unrelated to any company products. Suitable topics include:
  • Basic scientific research (e.g., pre-clinical studies, therapy discovery)
  • Research processes or methodologies unrelated to a specific disease or device
  • Mechanisms of action unrelated to a particular product
  • 7. I understand that the conference organizers reserve the right to remove any abstract that does not comply with these requirements.
  • 8. I confirm that the presenting author is a registered participant, and the contact details provided are for the presenting author. The presenting author will be notified of the abstract’s status and is responsible for informing all co-authors. The submitting author may request to be copied on correspondence.
  • 9. I understand that I must select a specific Topic, and/or Sub-Topic for abstract allocation.
  • 10. If the abstract includes patient cases or identifiable patient data, I confirm that all necessary patient consent forms have been obtained for publication or presentation.
  • 11. I confirm that I have obtained the consent of all co-authors for the processing of their contact information by the conference organizers.

Poster Instructions and Information

At SOZO Conference 2027, we are pleased to offer presenters the opportunity to showcase their work through traditional Poster Walkthrough Sessions and Oral Presentations.

Please note that all presenters are required to register and pay the applicable registration fee (ticket). If you have not yet registered, further details are available here

Registration and Ticket

Important Information

  • Poster Authors must bring their printed poster to the conference venue. Printing facilities will not be available onsite.
  • For safety reasons, do not place any personal items on the floor near or under the poster boards. The organizers cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.
  • Authors are encouraged to be present at their posters during breaks to engage with attendees, answer questions, and participate in informal discussions.
  • Paper Posters will be displayed in two shifts during Exhibition Opening hours (Saturday and Sunday).
  • Posters will be located in the Poster Gallery, near the Exhibition Area.
  • Detailed scheduling information will be shared in due course.
  • Posters must be removed at the end of the assigned display period. The organizers are not responsible for posters left behind.
  • Orientation: Landscape (horizontal) – See figure below for reference
  • Poster Board Size: 1.50 m (W) x 0.99 m (H) / 4.92 ft x 3.2 ft
  • Ensure content is readable from a distance of approximately 2 meters (6 feet)
  • Select colours that provide enough contrast between the text, images and background, so that text and images are legible for anyone with low vision or colour deficiencies. Avoid green on red and red on green.
  • Place the title and authors at the top, as per the submitted abstract
  • Structure your poster with:
  • Introduction (upper left)
  • Conclusion (bottom section, clearly visible)
  • Commercial content is not permitted (no company logos or promotional messaging). Institutional logos are allowed.
  • QR codes may be included but must not linked to commercial content

Oral Presentation

  • Held in the Main Conference Hall, these sessions highlight selected research through formal presentations.
  • Session times:
  • Saturday, 17 April from 11:30 - 15:30 (TBC)
  • Sunday, 18 April from 10:00 – 14:00 (TBC)
  • Scheduling details will be sent to presenting authors in due course.
  • Please note that:
  • Presenters are expected to be present in the session room at least 10 minutes prior to the start of their session.
  • Each presentation will last strictly 10 minutes, and will not be followed by a Q&A session
  • Presenters are expected to be present in the session room at least 10 minutes prior to the start of their session.
  • Held in the Poster Gallery, these sessions focus entirely on featured posters.
  • Session times:
  • Saturday, 17 April at 10:00 (TBC)
  • Sunday, 18 April at 13:00 (TBC)
